The House That She Built

Join Girl Scouts and the Professional Women in Building and Chico State Women In Construction for a day of innovation! Meet at the Chico Girl Scout property to draw up plans to design the space with your own ideas! Girl Scouts will tour the property and then work in groups to imagine what they would want the space to look and feel like. While working on their designs Girl Scouts will meet different women in the building and construction fields to learn more about their careers and get feedback on their ideas. Girl Scouts will earn the first half of “The House That She Built” program, a GSNorCal council patch, and complete steps towards STEM badges.

January 27th, 2024 ~ 10:00am - 2:00pm

For: Girl Scout youth grades 2-12 ~ min 5/max 25 and Adults ~ min 0/max 25

Fee: $5 per GSNorCal Youth Member, $0 per GSNorCal Adult Member

Program Fee Includes: GSNorCal Patch, snacks, THTSB program

Location: Chico Program Center

Please Note: This is the first half of the patch program. The 2nd half can be done on your own or at a council program in Spring 2024. Please bring a sack lunch and full water bottle. Drop-off's are allowed.

Cancellation Policy

Events run rain or shine unless inclement weather would adversely affect a program. In those cases, participants will be notified of cancellation or rescheduling. If GSNorCal cancels the event for any reason or cannot place participants in the event of their choice, GSNorCal will issue a refund for 100% of the registration fee.

Cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing by emailing Member Services. No refunds will be issued for registration fees of less than $10 per individual. Thirty (30) days written notice is required to receive 50% of registration fees of $10 or more per individual. There are no refunds if less than 30 days written notice is given except for medical reasons. Refunds for medical reasons will only be processed if notification is made before the event and is followed within one week by a written refund request accompanied by a note from a physician. No refunds will be issued for no-shows. The $25.00 Girl Scout membership fee and $15 council service fee are non-refundable.
